Job Overview
The Security Engineering Manager is a key role within Tesco's Detection Engineering team, responsible for leading a squad of security engineers in developing and implementing security controls to bolster the company's cyber defence.
This position requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as expertise in security engineering and threat detection. The successful candidate will work closely with other teams across prevention, operations, and automation to deliver effective cyber defensive outcomes.
As a Security Engineering Manager, you will be accountable for:
* Evaluating and prioritizing cyber threats to Tesco using machine signals and intelligence.
* Applying industry frameworks (MITRE ATT&CK, NIST CSF, etc) to integrate security into the software development lifecycle.
* Defining procedures to identify detection opportunities and assess risk reduction.
* Coordinating with security operations teams to support incident management, investigation, and response activities.
* Conducting research to define research goals, generate innovative ideas, summarize findings, and contribute to organizational security strategy.
* Understanding Enterprise technology infrastructure, systems, solutions, tools, and architecture.
