The Respiratory Supply Chain (RSC) at GSK’s Ware Manufacturing site is looking to recruit an Operations Support Manager within the Micronising Unit Operation. Reporting to the Manufacturing Unit Manager, the purpose of the role is to identify, implement and support operational improvements that deliver advantage for the Value Stream whilst ensuing focus on safety, quality and compliance is maintained.
As OSM you may have up to 2 direct reports.
Key Responsibilities (include):
* Identify and implement operational improvements that deliver competitive advantage for the Value Stream, aligned to site priorities.
* Identify best practice and implement improvement activities.
* To act as the production representative for project activity delivered within the area of responsibility, providing user requirements, managing production deliverables, and liaising directly with project managers.
* Ensure that compliance and governance processes in the area are robust and supported, and where relevant to manage the Compliance Coordinator
* Ensure that the production aspects of Supply Chain Planning processes are in place, in use and effective.
* Coach team members at all levels of the Value Stream to deliver excellence and continuous improvement through the use of GPS tools and standards.
* Act as deputy to Manufacturing Unit Manager where required.
About You:
This role will require an individual with previous Micronising experience and will suit a motivated person who is able to effectively multi-task and prioritise and has experience of working in a complex GMP manufacturing area. An ability to engage with and lead others to solve complex problems using the DMAIC methodology or similar ensuring robust solutions are identified. You will be resilient and calm under pressure, with strong people skills and a proven ability to influence people to achieve set targets and drive area performance.
You will have a strong continuous improvement mindset and an equally strong understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and procedures concerning safety, quality & compliance.
About Ware Manufacturing Site:
We are co-located with our R&D colleagues and recently opened a new, state-of-the-art oral solid dose facility at Ware. At this location our scientists, technicians and engineers (from R&D and Global Supply Chain – GSC) work collaboratively together (using the latest technologies) to rapidly knowledge transfer and deliver GSK’s most innovative, medicines faster and more efficiently. On site we produce over 60 million respiratory inhalers each year with growing demand in future years. The site also processes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) for use both on site and other manufacturing sites in our network.

Basic Qualifications:
* Demonstrable capability to manage teams, both line and matrix, in an Operational role.
* Micronising experience (ideally)
* Knowledge/understanding of product dose forms and their manufacturing processes (obtained from a highly-regulated industry)
