The School of Chemistry is seeking a talented scientist to work in the novel and exciting field of super-resolution microscopy to characterise synaptic proteins at the nanoscale.
A successful candidate is likely to have experience with either advanced microscopy methods. Experience with single-molecule fluorescence techniques, programming (ImageJ, python, MATLAB, etc.) would be advantageous. The candidate should have an excellent academic track record commensurate with their career stage and experience.
The Opportunity:
Working with Professors Mathew Horrocks and Seth Grant, you will build on our previously published groundwork on imaging synaptic proteins in the brain. You’ll be based in the Edinburgh Single-Molecule Biophysics Group in the newly built Chemistry Hub in the Institute for Regeneration and Repair, and also work with international collaborators. The combination of academic supervision with milestone-driven research will provide you with the guidance and knowledge you need to develop your career. Your skills and attributes for success:
Experience with advanced microscopy methods.
Immunohistochemistry experience.
