Working hours: 35 hours per week (weekend working as needed).

We are looking to recruit a Ukraine Project Coordinator and Translator to provide a wide range of support, including translation to the Ukrainian Community. This will include signposting to other support groups, back to work support, and help to integrate into local communities.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide a point of contact for members of the Ukrainian community requiring support, demonstrating both a professional and caring manner when interacting with programme participants to create a welcoming and supportive environment.
2. Plan, design, implement, and evaluate specific programmes/activities/initiatives to support the successful delivery of mission with the Ukrainian community.
3. Handle individual cases, ensuring comprehensive support and follow-up, providing particular assistance in the area of housing and employment, in partnership with The Salvation Army’s Employment Plus and other local services.
4. Act as translator for the project for Ukrainian guests.
5. Seek to understand the wider needs of refugees in Thanet, developing relationships with the wider Salvation Army, refugee groups, and community partners to meet these needs where appropriate.
6. Fulfil your duties in alignment with all relevant Salvation Army and statutory policies and procedures including health and safety, data protection, safeguarding, equality, and diversity.
Qualifications:
1. The ability and willingness to show compassion and understanding to all programme participants.
2. Proven good experience of using Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint), Outlook, and Teams to perform your work duties.
3. Strong previous experience and up-to-date knowledge of developing and implementing successful community programmes for a diverse range of participants.
4. Excellent translation skills (Ukrainian/English).
5. Experience working with migrant communities, ideally Ukrainian.
6. An awareness of relevant regulatory and compliance requirements such as health and safety, data protection, safeguarding, equality, and diversity.
7. A flexible approach to the delivery of activities including, on occasion, the ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as necessary.
