Platform Resourcing are currently working with a leading manufacturing company who are looking to expand their team by taking on a Machine Operative in Cardiff.
Shift pattern:
1. Week 1: Mornings: Mon - Fri 6am - 2pm
2. Week 2: Afternoons: Mon - Thurs 2pm to 10.00pm
3. Week 3: Nights: 10pm - 6am (Start Sunday evening 10pm - last shift finishes Friday 6am)
There will be 10% shift allowance for Afternoon shifts and 30% shift allowance for Night shifts.
This will change as of January 2025 to a new shift pattern - It will be on a 2 week rota. Week 1: 6am - 6pm, Week 2: 6pm - 6am.
The pattern would be 2 days in, 2 days off, 3 days in, 2 days off, 2 days in, 3 days off and so on. If this is an issue, we would still like to submit your CV, along with your preferences as this is not set in stone as of yet.
Machine Operative Benefits:
1. Starting salary of between £13.09 and £13.46 per hour depending on experience.
2. Rates of pay will increase with experience, there are 4 pay levels for this role and progression to supervisory positions.
3. Yearly bonus up to 10% of annual salary based on company performance (min for this role £2722).
4. Monday to Friday shifts, no weekends, but weekend overtime is available.
5. Permanent, stable role within a growing organisation during an exciting period of expansion.
6. 24 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays with Christmas shutdown.
7. Death in Service scheme.

Machine Operative Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Setting and operating machinery.
2. Work to technical drawings with minimal supervision.
3. Produce products to the highest standards - output and quality.
4. Carry out changeovers on machines.
5. Manage speeds and feeds.
6. Inspection/gauging of machined components.
7. Compliance with all EH&S and company procedures.
Machine Operative Essential Experience:
1. Experience within a Manufacturing/ Production/ Machine Operator position in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
2. Ability to carry out complete and partial changeovers.
3. Understanding of speeds and feeds based on materials; controls; programming; safety and tooling.
4. Able to communicate at all levels and work effectively as part of a team, as well as independently and with minimal supervision.
5. Ability to work on multiple tasks and to tight deadlines.
6. Ability to achieve production and quality targets.
7. Positive and flexible can-do attitude.
