Role: Engineering Estimator
Location: Harlow, Essex
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am until 5pm, Friday 8am until 2pm
Salary: GBP35,000 plus a monthly performance related bonus scheme of up to 10%
An excellent opportunity has now arisen for an Engineering Estimator to join our client's successful team in Harlow, Essex.
About our client:
Our client is a multi-million pound turnover Engineering business that has seen exceptional growth in the past few years. Operating across a wide range of sectors including Automotive and Healthcare, they are currently looking for a Technical Estimator to join their team based at their local offices.
About the role:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Technical Estimator will be responsible for playing a key role in responding to RFP's, the submission of quotations and tenders on behalf of the company. You will interact with customers directly and fulfil their requirements. You will also work with a team to ensure accurate estimates are provided and that jobs are costed as per instruction.
On a day to day basis you will:
* Ensure stable, transparent, and traceable market driven cost structures and provide accurate costing and pricing figures to the company's business development team.
* Support the development, implementation and optimization of market driven costings and manage and analyse all materials against a project.
* Estimate for costs based on customer enquiries.
* Estimate manufacturing and assembly times.
* Obtain material, bought out and lead-times.
* Produce accurate costing estimates in response to customers / product developments.
* Read and assess 2D and 3D drawings/model files confidently.
* Ensure that customer expectations are met and exceeded and identify areas for improvement.
* Prepare quotes/submissions, putting bids together.
* Liaise with internal colleagues regarding product set-up, routings, and other technical aspects.
* New Product introduction.

What we would like from you:
* Strong analytical abilities
* A sheet metal background ideally, or Engineering Degree
* Ability to read & interpret blueprints
* Ability to coordinate & work independently
* Knowledge of CAD software
