Cover Supervisor – Secondary School – Manchester Location: Manchester Start Date: ASAP Salary: £89 - £100 per day Contract Type: Full-time, long-term with opportunity for permanent placement A large, diverse, and well-organised Manchester secondary school is looking for a Cover Supervisor to provide high-quality lesson delivery in the absence of teaching staff. You’ll step into classrooms across a range of subjects, providing structure and maintaining high expectations while supporting student learning. This role is ideal for those looking to gain classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching or educational support. Role Responsibilities: Supervise pre-set lessons across a variety of subjects, ensuring students remain on task and complete assigned work. Deliver basic instruction and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policy. Provide feedback to teachers on pupil behaviour, engagement, and progress. Help with administrative tasks, resource preparation, and invigilation during exams. Build relationships with staff and pupils, becoming a reliable and valued member of the school community. Candidate Profile: Previous experience working with secondary-aged children (e.g., youth work, coaching, mentoring). Strong presence, confidence, and the ability to manage classroom dynamics. Excellent communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure. A flexible and proactive approach – no two days are the same Ideal for recent graduates or aspiring teachers.
