My client is a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Consultancy established for over 80 years. They have completed hundreds of residential projects which have involved high specification single residences and refurbishments within listed buildings. The firm operates a Quality Assurance system that is accredited and audited by ISOQAR and employs modern design techniques such as Revit MEP, IES, Hevacomp, Dialux, and AutoCAD. This will be a full-time Mechanical Design Engineer role based from the company's offices in Surrey. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, specification, and coordination of mechanical systems for a variety of building projects including commercial, residential, healthcare, and institutional developments. This position offers an opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects from concept through to completion. Key Responsibilities: • Design HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems in compliance with building codes, sustainability requirements, and client specifications. • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and schedules using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and other design tools. • Perform heat load, cooling load, and ventilation calculations using industry-standard tools. • Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure integrated and efficient design solutions. • Conduct site inspections, monitor construction progress, and ensure installations meet design and quality standards. • Support project management activities including cost estimation, tender documentation, and progress reporting. • Keep up to date with new technologies, regulations, and sustainability practices relevant to building services engineering. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent). • Professional Engineer (PE) license or working towards chartered status is a plus. • 2 years of relevant experience in building services design and engineering. • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES, or similar. • Strong understanding of local building codes and standards. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
