IQGeo is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to support our Web and Mobile Software engineering efforts for domestic and international enterprise customers. Our Engineering team, with teams located in Cambridge, UK, Denver, USA, Salt Lake City, USA, and Ghent, Belgium is responsible for designing and developing our Geospatial products. As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will be a part of the Cambridge Engineering team, developing the next generation of innovative geospatial products that support mission-critical operations for our global customer base. The Cambridge Engineering team has both developers and testers in the Cambridge area and remote in the US. The person in this role is expected to be capable of working independently, and as a team member, and should have experience working with complex software business and enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
As an integral part of the Geospatial engineering team, the successful candidate will be developing new and supporting existing product releases to meet the growing list of requirements for the platform product and new industry vertical applications. Your duties and responsibilities will include:
* Design, development, unit-testing, maintenance, and enhancement of software products adhering to the product architecture.
* Implementation of automated testing.
* Configuration management and management of builds.
* Technical documentation of software design.
Person Specification
You must have all of the following:
* Significant experience building efficient server-side applications in Python.
* Significant experience with SQL and RDBMS technology (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQLite, or similar).
* Significant experience integrating front-end and back-end components.
* Experience creating and running automated tests.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to present technical concepts to Architects and Developers.
* Experience working with Docker containers.
* Experience using Git or other distributed version control systems.
* UK citizenship or permanent residency required.
* Fluent written and spoken English.
* Experience with Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) or web mapping.
* Experience within the telecommunications and/or utilities industries.
* Knowledge of Node.js design and development.
* Enterprise Integration especially web services.
* Experience working in an Agile environment.
* Experience with Linux system architecture/administration and supporting network architecture.
* Experience working in cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
* Knowledge of or experience with: Redux Toolkit, OpenLayers, PostGIS, Pyramid, Shapely, Turf, and SQLAlchemy.
Education and Experience
* Bachelors degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent industry experience.
