Marine Specialist
Job Summary:
A dedicated Marine Specialist sought to provide marine safety and naval architecture support in the Standards and Performance Department. Key responsibilities include vessel design and stability matters, auditing and investigation, commercial ship operations, and management of multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Vessel Design and Stability:
o Provide guidance on vessel design and stability matters.
o Update ships drawings as required.
o Provision of drawings of vessels, ports, and interfaces.
* Auditing and Investigation:
o Support internal audits and investigations of incidents.
o Establish causal influences and corrective action.
* Naval Architecture Support:
o Provision of naval architect support to the Fleet Management Department.
o Conduct Inclining Experiments and Lightship Surveys.
* Stakeholder Liaison:
o Assist with business-wide projects from a Naval Architecture perspective.
o Support management of customer complaints and issues with a safety impact.
Requirements:
* HND / HNC in Naval Architecture or equivalent.
* Experience in Computer Aided Design software.
* Experience in auditing and investigation.
* Commercial ship operations and management experience.
* Theoretical and working knowledge of International and Domestic Safety Regulations.
* Strong written/verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrate excellent time management and analytical skills.
