Shifts will be Mon to Fri 9am to 5pm – shifts will vary week to week depending on need but will primarily be to cover leave and sickness absence with additional admin assistance from time to time.

Role Overview
As Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support for the Medical Secretaries’ department. You will interact with patients, consultants, staff and visitors to facilitate a coordinated pathway of care for patients.
What you’ll do
1. Provide admin support to the department, prioritising doctors’ workload accordingly to ensure each practitioner’s work is accurately completed on time.
2. Maintain a polite and friendly manner and a high standard of confidentiality.
3. Work as part of a team, showing flexibility of shared tasks to ensure the best quality service in a pleasant environment for both staff and patients.
4. File all correspondence, test results and referral letters into the patient’s notes before returning to medical records.
5. Receive telephone messages and relevant queries, send/receive faxed messages and relay promptly to the doctor concerned. Request patient information from outside organisations.
6. Support in the coordination of our multi-disciplinary team meetings to ensure consultant engagement and the smooth running of the meeting.
What you’ll bring
1. Medical Secretary experience.
2. MDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) experience would be desirable.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Good time management and prioritisation skills.
5. Organisational skills.
6. Telephony skills.
7. IT literate.
