National Grid is hiring a Systems Administrator on a permanent basis. The location for this role will be based from our Pegasus office in Castle Donnington - Hybrid Working Policy.
Job Purpose
To provide systems administration support for the Platforms team systems landscape. This encompasses capabilities such as contract and project management, safety and audit processes. Where applicable, change control and contract variations will need to be supported.
Appropriate communication documentation preparation, and accurate inputting of data into systems and logs updates accordingly is required to be carried out in a timely and consistent manner.
What you'll do
* Serve as a key point of contact for systems administration within National Grid Electricity Transmission (NGET).
* Manage licenses across various platforms to ensure compliance and efficiency.
* Continuously seek improvements to the systems administration landscape.
* Provide cross-functional administrative support within NGET systems, ensuring optimal performance for Business Units in areas such as Contract Management, Sustainability, Safety, and Quality. This includes tasks like adding NEC contracts to the contract management system, managing system access, group administration, and creating or amending templates in line with National Grid business procedures.
* Conduct monthly user audits and liaise with ET Product Teams to resolve queries as needed.
* Process and manage requests for Single Sign-On (SSO) accounts for external users.
* Assist in maintaining and distributing workload within email folders across various systems managed by the team.
* Manage SharePoint access for external users while ensuring adherence to security protocols.
* Provide daily reports for various systems and respond to requests as needed.
About you
Customer Focused: You prioritise the needs and satisfaction of customers, ensuring that their requirements are met with high-quality service and support. Your ability to understand and anticipate customer needs drives your approach to systems administration.
Knowledge of NEC Terminology and Contract Management: Familiarity with NEC (New Engineering Contract) terminology and contract management processes is beneficial. This knowledge will help you navigate and manage contracts effectively, ensuring compliance and alignment with organisational standards.
Change Management and Health and Safety Awareness: An understanding of change management principles and health and safety systems is advantageous. This awareness enables you to contribute to a safe working environment and effectively manage transitions within projects and processes.
Attention to Detail and Process Adherence: You possess a keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks. Your ability to follow strict processes is crucial in maintaining the integrity of systems and data, minimising errors and enhancing overall efficiency.
Experience in a Contractual or Commercial Environment: Your background in a contractual or commercial setting equips you with the skills to navigate complex agreements and understand the implications of contractual obligations. This experience is valuable in supporting the administrative functions within NGET.
