Who we're looking for
We are seeking a motivated and diligent early-career governance professional to support our Private Markets business (Schroders Capital). The successful candidate will assist in maintaining high governance standards and will work closely with the senior team on global governance initiatives. This is a new role and provides an excellent opportunity for growth and development within a fast-growing and strategically important area of the business.
The primary focus of the role will be to support the Senior Company Secretary, Private Markets to manage the governance framework for the Private Markets business line. You will assist in preparing and organising materials for meetings with the business and relevant boards and committees, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication. Under the guidance of senior colleagues, you will support the delivery of governance advice and help address the needs of senior stakeholders. Additionally, your responsibilities will include contributing to strategic projects.

The team
The Group Governance team is a friendly, experienced, and inclusive team of around 30 individuals based in both London and Luxembourg. We collaborate extensively with the wider Schroders business. The business considers us to be trusted advisors, and we work hard to maintain that confidence. You will work primarily with the Senior Company Secretary, Private Markets.
What you'll do
* Assist in providing company secretarial services (including preparing board and committee packs, drafting minutes and resolutions, maintaining authorised signatory lists and ensuring accurate record-keeping) with a view to taking on primary responsibility for more routine meetings.
* Contribute to Governance projects related to business initiatives and regulatory changes, offering support to ensure timely and successful completion.
* Act as a point of contact for the Schroders Capital business, providing them with the necessary information and assistance relating to governance matters.
* Assist in the development and implementation of governance policies and procedures, promoting continuous improvement and efficiency.
* Analyse governance processes and assist in implementing technological solutions to enhance efficiency.
* Build relationships with stakeholders, acting as a reliable point of contact for governance-related queries.
* Contribute to our Global Governance Network and other initiatives to foster a collaborative culture.
The Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications You Need
* Experience in a company secretarial or governance role, preferably within financial services.
* Recently completed or working towards a Chartered Company Secretary qualification.
* Experience in attending and minuting board meetings is highly desirable.
* Familiarity with entity management systems and electronic board portals is advantageous.
