Position Overview:
We are seeking an accomplished and forward-thinking Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager to manage our supply chain operations. This role involves both strategic and day-to-day management of procurement and supply chain processes. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional planning and analytical mindset and a robust background in procurement and supply chain management.
This opportunity is perfect if you are looking to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. With a small team under your leadership, including warehousing and stock administration, you will collaborate closely with the Product team and other departmental managers to ensure seamless operations.
The Role:
You will be tasked with developing, implementing, and continuously refining stock management strategies across the business. This includes leading centralised procurement to support operational needs, devising forecasting tools to anticipate demand, and maintaining robust supplier relationships to ensure product availability while optimising stock levels.
Your role will also involve providing insightful reporting for key meetings, highlighting stock performance, holding levels, and areas for improvement. You will set improvement targets aligned with budget objectives, propose actionable solutions, and address challenges such as managing slow-moving, end-of-life, and obsolete stock.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Supply Chain Management:
* Develop, implement, and refine stock management strategies to optimise operational efficiency.
* Centralise procurement processes and implement demand forecasting tools to anticipate business needs.
* Set and achieve improvement targets aligned with budget objectives, addressing challenges such as slow-moving, end-of-life, and obsolete stock.
Operational Oversight:
* Manage product supply processes to ensure timely and accurate order placement, balancing availability with working capital efficiency.
* Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to generate accurate demand forecasts based on customer performance, trends, and key business activities.
* Chair monthly stock meetings to align cross-functional actions and priorities, using ad hoc reporting tools to monitor stock performance and identify issues.
Supplier and Relationship Management:
* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitoring performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing as needed.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities in collaboration with the commercial team, enhancing margin, profitability, and cash flow.
Process Improvement:
* Work closely with warehousing teams to enhance stock count accuracy, balance stock levels within defined parameters, and improve operational efficiency.
* Drive innovation in processes and foster cross-functional collaboration to optimise supply chain performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain and procurement roles, ideally within the SaaS or technology industry.
* Strong proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
* Demonstrated experience in managing and developing teams.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across all organisational levels.
* Advanced proficiency in stock management, forecasting, Excel, and data analytics.
* Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
* Professional certification in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) is an advantage.
