ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsibilities:
– Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with contract drawings, specifications, Building Regulations, and Building Warranty standards.
– Produce detailed reports using tablet-based systems after each visit.
– Perform snagging inspections before Practical Completion and issue lists of identified defects.
– Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant fire safety regulations, codes, and standards.
– Conduct regular inspections to identify and mitigate fire hazards.
– Verify correct installation and functioning of fire safety installations (e.g., fire doors, fire stopping, sprinkler systems, masonry work, and drylining).
– Maintain accurate records of fire safety inspections and prepare detailed compliance reports.
– Promote fire safety awareness on site and provide guidance to the construction team.
– Liaise with fire safety consultants and other stakeholders to ensure compliance.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 5 years in a construction role, preferably with a technical or trade background.
– Membership in ICWCI or equivalent required.
– Strong understanding of Approved Document B (Part B) and BS9999.
– Diploma or degree in Fire Safety, Construction Management, or a related field is desirable.
– Relevant certifications in fire safety or construction safety (e.g., NEBOSH, FPA, IFE, Site Manager) are highly desirable.
– Proven experience in fire safety management and RC frameworks preferred.
– Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations, codes, and standards (e.g., NFPA, BS 9999, BS 9991).
– Excellent attention to detail, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency in using fire safety inspection software and tools.
