Job Description Start here. Grow here. Within the Building Engineering Division, we are currently seeking a full time BMS Technical Director. This role is to be based at one of AECOMs UK Offices. – (London, St Albans Leeds, Edinburgh, Manchester and Bristol) As part of AECOM’s Specialisms Operating unit the BMS team will form part of the Technology engineering group and shall provide BMS design and support services to complement and enhance the design activities of the Mechanical and Electrical teams. The role covers the design of BMS systems across a wide range of industry sectors including office fit out, mixed use, industrial through to multiple government, public sector and commercial organisations. The Successful candidate will have the following: A solid foundation of understanding or analysis of client business practices and goals. Develop and formulate solutions to client problems on assigned projects. Under general direction, be responsible for the creation of work plans and task definitions. Have broad technical knowledge but possesses an area of specialization or focus. The ability to grow and build a team. Accountabilities: Sector engagement with Building & Places Business unit sector leads and general Building Engineering Liaison. Production / Workload Management. Provision of technical support and input to the BMS team. Business Development. Hold or happy to hold if successful an active Security Clearance. IMS Quality Management & Technical Assurance. Oversight of Project Finances. Knowledge Management. Promotion of SH&E good practice and a leader in solving any SH&E issues. Key Skills Required : Commercial experience in building services industry (consultancy or contractor) to include installation and testing of control systems and Control system commissioning. Document writing, with a strong attention to detail. Project Management. Strong technical & design skills in Controls, BMS to include mechanical and electrical systems design. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at Senior Manager / Director level, architects, M&E contractors and others. Smart Building experience. Knowledge of Open communication standards and technologies Passion for technology and innovation in building management. What you’ll do Stakeholder engagement Gathering data and technical information to support projects Spec writing. Development of Point Schedules. Semantic Modelling of building systems data. Conducting System Condition surveys, producing reports and recommendations for clients. Completion of Feasibility Studies, Energy Management Surveys, Specification reviews & evaluation. Providing Application advice to clients. Production of Concept / Scheme designs, performance specifications and detailed design development. Engaged in Tender Management and Tender Vetting on behalf of the client. Production of Cost/Bid analysis. Project Management on behalf of clients to include project progress reporting and Contract Administration as applicable. Responsible for Commissioning Management and Snagging on behalf of clients. Conduct system witness testing and reporting. Attendance at BMS FAT’s and SAT’s. Production of case studies. Sales and work winning. Client systems training. Presentations. Employers’ requirement writing. The role will include national working with occasional travel required where deemed necessary by projects location / need. The role will require that the candidate is available travel to various AECOM offices where required.
