A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a pharmacist to take on an internal secondment opportunity for the role of the Highly Specialist Pharmacist - Infection and Immunity.
The post holder will be well integrated within the Infection & Immunity multidisciplinary team and work closely with the other members of the team to develop the service.
The post holder will be involved in the following areas:
1. Provide high quality, patient-centered pharmacy services to GUM/Sexual reproductive health & hepatitis C.
2. Lead on projects and undertake service reviews.
3. Develop leadership, governance, and research skills.
4. Contribute to education & training for pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
This post is being advertised as a five-month backfill until the 9th of August 2025.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will support the Lead Pharmacist Infection and Immunity in leading a team of staff to deliver a high-quality clinical pharmacy service to all aspects of the Infection and Immunity specialty. The role will include being the site lead for Infection & Immunity at the Newham hospital site and the Sir Lutman Guttman Centre in Stratford. The role also has specialist cross-site responsibilities for Infection & Immunity pharmacy services across the Trust.
The post holder will be responsible for promoting a responsive, high-quality, safe, and cost-effective Pharmacy service within the Infection & Immunity specialty to optimize clinical outcomes, minimize adverse reactions, and improve medicines safety.

Experience
* Significant post-registration experience in a hospital-based clinical post.
* Experience of providing a hospital-based service to HIV patients at band 7 level or equivalent.
* Experience of undertaking research, quality improvement, or audit projects.
* Experience of managing staff and performing appraisals and giving feedback.
Skills
* Able to work unsupervised, accurately follow written procedures, and work under pressure.
* Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize self and others.
Knowledge
* Able to communicate complex information effectively to all health and care professionals, colleagues, patients, and their loved ones.
* Understanding of clinical governance and clinical risk management.
Qualifications
* MPharm or equivalent.
* Registered as a pharmacist with the GPhC.
* Post Graduate Pharmacy Qualification or equivalent experience (minimum Postgraduate Diploma level).
