What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for an enthusiastic female teacher to join our PE team. We would especially encourage applications from ECTs, who would have access to a comprehensive range of support and guidance at Toynbee. We would also welcome applications from more experienced teachers.
You will join a highly ambitious PE Department that has been enormously successful over the past few years. The PE department has a commitment to offering as many sporting opportunities to as many pupils as possible. As such, it has developed an extensive and thorough extra-curricular programme that has exceptionally high participation rates. The department also has a long tradition of success in events at district, county and national level. This success is all built on consistent approaches to teaching and assessment, an extensive extra-curricular programme, and having the belief that all children will achieve their potential; the department really does embody the school motto of “Personal Best”. While we are very proud of these outcomes for our students, we remain driven and determined to improve even further. We are keen to employ a teacher who will share in this commitment.
The successful candidate will have excellent subject knowledge, strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire our pupils with outstanding and engaging teaching. Equally, we are committed to offering the right candidate ongoing professional development and career progression. The recent Ofsted inspection was extremely positive about the quality of teaching in the school and the positive outcomes for pupils and we want a candidate that will continue this good work.
