We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Assistant Engineering Manager to join our team at Bannockburn! This is the perfect opportunity for someone who is experienced in the maintenance, repair and overhaul of heavy vehicles and now looking for the next step in their career – but without giving up the tools for good. As an Assistant Manager at Midland Bluebird, you’ll spend your time leading your team whilst still getting your hands on the tools, using your experience to mentor and help your team solve complex problems. So, what will you do?
* Ensure that the Engineering Team works safely and complies with health and safety rules at all times.
* Delegate maintenance and repairs, striving to exceed DVSA requirements and industry standards.
* Provide and maintain an excellent level of service to the business ensuring PVR (peak vehicle requirement) is met each day by engaging and leading the team.
* Ensure the swift and accurate completion of engineering records, upholding a high standard of documentation.
* Stay at the forefront of industry advancements, continually sharpening your engineering skills.
* Cultivate effective communication with colleagues including the Engineering Manager and Operations Manager to ensure seamless collaboration.
What do you need to bring with you?
* Proven time-served experience as a PCV/HGV mechanic is essential.
* Proven ability to thrive and communicate in a team-oriented environment prioritising tasks effectively, working well under pressure.
* At least 1 year people management experience, resulting in highly engaged and productive teams.
* Agility and the ability to change direction quickly.
* Flexibility in working hours, demonstrating adaptability to the dynamic demands of the engineering landscape.
* Possession of a valid and current UK driving license is essential.
