We are excited to look for a sales professional to join our Higher Education Sales Team as a new Inside Sales Representative. This role will be responsible to sell relevant OUP products to an agreed group of Higher Education institutions via telephone, email, Teams or by identifying and passing on leads to the HE territory sales representatives. In addition, you will provide administrative support for the HE sales team as necessary.
Key responsibilities in this role will include:
1. To achieve the agreed sales targets for OUP sales within an agreed list of HE institutions / departments and to report on progress against these targets as necessary.
2. To identify sales opportunities in the Higher Education market and to make contact (usually via Teams or email) with key adoption decision makers in order to present and promote OUP titles to them.
3. To devise and update an annual sales strategy for the relevant products and institutions and to communicate this to the wider sales team.
4. To regularly update the relevant systems (e.g. Sales Force) with adoption sales data, contact details, student numbers etc.
5. To establish and maintain an in depth knowledge of the relevant Higher Education products in order to present and discuss them to customers in the relevant field.
6. To provide feedback on adoption sales and wider market trends to sales management and the HE editorial and marketing departments.
7. To cover adoption sales calling for other institutions during periods of short staffing in the HE sales team (e.g. recruitment gaps or maternity leave).
8. To provide support for the HE sales team as necessary including tasks such as sales reporting and internal processes, as set out by the Higher Education Sales Manager.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
1. Experience of telesales/marketing in a commercial environment.
2. Knowledge of the UK Higher Education market, preferably in a relevant subject area (e.g. Business or Law).
3. Excellent communication and organisation skills.
4. Experience of using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, as well as the ability to gain a working knowledge of new systems quickly.
5. Ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload.
