Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
The Seamoor Unit is a busy combined chemotherapy and medical day treatment unit with outpatient and clinic facilities. Opening hours are Monday to Friday 08:00 18:00. Due to our expanding team, we are looking to recruit nurses who are committed, motivated, and forward-thinking to complement our existing team in achieving the best care for our patients receiving these treatments.
Within the supporting statement of your application, please provide an example of where you have demonstrated "Striving for Excellence" within a similar role.
We are seeking an experienced registered nurse; previous experience in the administration of chemotherapy is not essential as training will be given. However, experience in the administration of IV therapies, cannulation, and venepuncture is essential.
If you have leadership skills, work in an acute setting, and are keen to specialise in cancer, this could be your opportunity to progress.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, you will be joining an exceptional team working together to help our patients stay healthy when they need it most.
Job responsibilities
This post provides an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to work within the multi-disciplinary team to provide treatment for patients with a cancer or haematology diagnosis. We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic, motivated, and adaptable experienced nurse to join our friendly team. Our trust values guide everything we do, and at all times we aim to demonstrate compassion, act with integrity, demonstrate inclusivity, and encourage and support the empowerment of staff who go the extra mile for our patients and colleagues.
This is a developmental role where you will be paid Band 5, and once fully SACT trained, you will be uplifted to a Band 6 Senior Chemotherapy nurse. The successful applicant will undergo training to complete the accredited SACT module. They will be supported on the unit in SACT administration, and when training is completed, the applicant will be uplifted into a Band 6 role.
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 18:00, 4 shifts per week.
Interview Date: Tuesday 7th January 2025.
