At Care first Recruitment Ltd, we are currently recruiting Passenger Assistants to chaperone children to and from school / day centres and colleges, throughout the West London and Central London areas. Most of our school runs are in and around West London areas but you must be flexible and willing to travel to other areas. We require both Male and Female passenger Assistants (we have a shortage of male applicants). There are various vacancies available, for both male and female PAs. You will be required to communicate effectively with transport teams, SEN teams, social workers, parents / careers to ensure all children are provided with the up most care, safety and supervision and always have a comfortable and dignified journey. The child that you will be escorting to school may have challenging behaviour or learning difficulties. It is very important that you are confident in your ability to work with children with learning difficulties or challenging behaviour. (Training will be provided, although this may not be before you start) As an PA, your job will be to ensure that passengers who may be vulnerable and need supervision and/or assistance are transported between locations safely whilst in your care. You must be able to deal with children in a calm and understanding manner, through situations that may sometimes be difficult, to develop a relationship of trust with the child and parents. Requirements for this role are: Must be able to commit to ongoing bookings throughout the school term from Monday and Friday for school start and end times. Consistency is one of the key requirements for this role, as the child that you will be working with can be affected by lack of consistency. Previous experience working with children with Learning difficulties and challenging behaviour. The ability to communicate effectively with the child, the school, parents and all other parties. You do not require lots of experience within this field to be considered for this role, HOWEVER, you will need to be able to demonstrate patience, understanding and awareness of issues around children having mild to moderate disabilities, special needs, autism, challenging behaviour. You will need to also be able to demonstrate that you have had some experience working with children from different age ranges. Pay is fixed to 5 hours pay per day some runs are 6 hours per day pay (this covers the morning and afternoon school runs), but the actual time you will be working is just 2-3 hours a day, which will give you a lot of personal daytime flexibility to do other things. You MUST be available to work both the morning (anytime between 7.30am-9.30am) and afternoon shift (anytime between 2.30pm-5.30pm). Pay rate is between £13.00 - £15.00 - This is term time only you will not be paid in school holidays however you do accumulate holiday pay.
