The role
As a Software Technical Architect, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. We are looking for an energetic and driven Software Technical Architect, to provide Subject Matter Expertise and design leadership into our expanding engineering team for major programmes. This role represents a fantastic and rare opportunity to play a senior role in a design team, working on new and exciting international projects as part of a rapidly expanding organisation.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for interfacing with the Radio Frequency development team and operations to develop packages of work and functions for software team to deliver against and design effective solutions to meet system requirements based on existing systems and operational system usage, as well as:
1. Clearly communicating with Project Managers, Design Authorities and key stakeholders to maintain alignment of outputs.
2. Working with design authority for the creation of solutions in response to emergent customer requirements, from concepts through to in-life support, maintaining a focus on achievable software products
3. Be responsible for maintaining design documentation such as; Functional Spec, Architecture, Interface documents to appropriate standard and assessing and mitigating software design risks issues and opportunities
4. Be a cohesive liaison with the Software Integration Lead and Software Technical Lead to ensure successful deployments to integration and operational environments and support validation, verification, test and acceptance activities
This role is full time and is a hybrid role with 1-2 day per week onsite at our Ashton House site.
Essential experience of the Software Technical Architect:
5. Pro-active engineering management with a theoretical and practical software background
6. Understanding of working to product development and engineering lifecycle V-Model (or equivalent). From initial concepts, requirements, design, implementation, integration, verification, validation, maintenance and supportability
7. Deep understanding and experience of producing technical artifacts to facilitate SCRUM working model such as epics, backlog, user stories
Qualifications for the Software Technical Architect:
8. Degree or equivalent in software engineering. HNC/HND with equivalent, relevant experience is valued and welcomed.

9. The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
