Join our dynamic Road Safety Engineering team at Essex Highways and play a crucial role in making our roads safer for everyone. In this fast-paced and impactful position, you'll contribute to key services, including Road Safety Audits, the Annual Collision Investigation Program, and Fatal Road Death investigations. We’re looking for a highly motivated, adaptable professional who thrives under pressure and can confidently manage multiple priorities. Your work will directly support our ambitious Vision Zero goal—eliminating all deaths and serious injuries on Essex roads by 2040.
The Role
1. To undertake Road Safety Audits and assessments on behalf of the Highway Authority
2. Identify collision trends at locations and put forward Safety Engineering solutions
3. Undertake Fatal Road Collision Investigations on behalf of the Highway Authority
4. Carry out ad-hoc collision investigations
5. When required attend meetings to provide Road Safety support and technical input as appropriate.
Minimum Requirements
1. Degree, or equivalent high level qualification, or significant experience in highways (Desirable)
2. Road Safety Engineering / Collision Investigation experience
3. Conversant with Microsoft applications
4. Experience of undertaking Road Safety Audits (Desirable)
Applicants will need to hold a valid UK Driving Licence in order to carry out their duties for this role.
