About Us: Get Further are an award-winning charity that supports students from disadvantaged backgrounds to develop the skills they need to progress onto higher-level courses, apprenticeships, and into the workplace. We deliver tailored tuition for GCSE and Functional Skills, offering valuable extra support to help students secure gateway qualifications. About the Role: As a Maths and/or English Tutor, you will support students in further education or completing an apprenticeship to develop the skills they need to pass gateway qualifications and unlock opportunities. Our Tutors deliver a bespoke curriculum, fully-resourced and designed by expert teachers, with no lesson planning or preparation needed. Our tutors do this through in-person, small-group sessions of 1-3 students. Sessions are 1-1.5-hour blocks, typically held within working hours Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm. This is an exciting opportunity to have a direct impact on the life chances of students –helping them to improve their skills and achieve key qualifications that open doors for future study and work. The successful candidate must, by the start of the employment, have permission to work in the UK. In Return: 2 full days of paid training delivered by subject specialists. 2-20 working hours per week, at the same time each week, matched to your given availability. Minimum C grade in GCSE English and maths (or equivalent) A-level/equivalent qualification at grade B or above in relevant subject Must either have obtained a minimum of 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree or be working towards one. Further Requirements: Able to commit to two full days of tutor training. Minimum 2 hours tuition per week for 15 weeks- a notice period of 3 months is required if no longer available for tuition. Ability to travel to placement location and, for online tuition (if applicable), access to a computer with a camera and wi-fi.
