About the Role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a crucial role in delivering specialist support to students with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and external specialists to ensure that every child receives the personalised support they need to thrive both academically and socially. SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) Responsibilities: Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with special educational needs. Assist in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies. Foster a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment that supports the diverse needs of pupils. Support students with communication, emotional regulation and social interaction. Adapt learning materials and activities to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to deliver targeted interventions. Promote independence, confidence and a love for learning among students. Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and parents where appropriate. Requirements: To be considered for this role, you must: Experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role. A relevant qualification in Education, SEN, or Child Development (desirable but not essential). A strong understanding of SEN strategies, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties. Patience, empathy and resilience, with the ability to adapt to the needs of each student. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise effectively with staff, students and parents. A proactive and positive approach, with the ability to use creative methods to engage pupils. Have an updated CV ( covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps ) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one). Why Join GSL Education?
