We are looking to recruit into our children & young people inpatient mental health services at Acklam Road Hospital, offering an exciting and unique opportunity for those wishing to become Band 3 Nursing Assistants, contributing to the inpatient care pathway.
An opportunity has arisen for a role within our Children & young people's pathway which is currently a ten-bed unit supporting young people to improve their mood and mental state with a focus on transitioning back to the community. Lotus Ward utilises skills across the whole team; full training and support will be available to the successful candidate.
The successful applicant will work within a multi-disciplinary team assisting in the development and implementation of collaborative, needs-based care plans. They will support the team in providing excellent and effective person-centred care and will, as part of the inpatient team, be visible and accessible to patients, families, and carers, working together to ensure efficient, effective, and caring services.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Work within a multi-disciplinary team assisting in the development and implementation of collaborative, needs-based care plans.
2. Support the team in providing excellent and effective person-centred nursing care.
3. Be actively involved in the health and wellbeing of staff and service users.
4. Be visible and accessible to patients, families, and carers, working together to ensure efficient, effective, and caring service.
5. Contribute to achieving all performance indicators, essential standards, and quality outcomes.
6. Provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect, and dignity.

Person Specification
Education & Qualification
* NVQ 3 in Care or commitment to work towards.
Knowledge & Experience
* Supporting person-centred care.
* Experience of working within a mental health care setting.
* Experience of working with young people.
* An understanding of the Trust talk first initiative.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Literacy, numeracy, and basic IT skills.
* Ability to prioritise and demonstrate good time management skills.
