We now have an opportunity for an experienced, Maintenance Operative to join our busy Maintenance Team at our production site in Newport
What's the mission?
As the site’s Aggregate Control and Maintenance Operative at our Newport Works, you will be responsible for all aggregate control and loading shovel duties as well as preventative and reactive maintenance duties for the site’s crushing department.
Your primary function would include accepting aggregate deliveries and quality inspecting, maintaining housekeeping in the aggregate yard and crusher areas, operation of the site crusher and its routine maintenance, maintaining the aggregate house and associated components and keeping all maintenance records relating to these areas to a high standard. Keep equipment safe, clean, reporting defects. Keep the yard tidy, ensure safety systems work, and minimize waste. Check deliveries, run tests, and sign only approved materials.
As a key member of the site’s maintenance team, occasional maintenance tasks relating to the production facility during shutdown periods would also be applicable.
What are the mission-critical skills?
* A formal engineering based qualification and or time served apprenticeship
* Good understanding of current environmental and health and safety issues and knowledge of regulatory requirements.
* Practical hands-on approach.
* Ability to interrogate/understand maintenance problems to provide accurate plant condition information/recommendations.
* Have good written and verbal communication skills
* You must be able to demonstrate good IMS awareness.
* Experience in mechanical fitting, hydraulics, and pneumatics will be an advantage
