Location: UK (with travel to depots as required)

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Systems Manager to join one of the leading companies in the haulage, distribution, and transportation sector across the UK. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to take on a pivotal role in ensuring the continuous improvement of our quality management systems.
As the Quality Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing ISO procedures to the ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 50001 standards, driving performance improvements across the business, and supporting the company’s strategic objectives. You will work closely with senior management and employees to implement and uphold quality processes, ensuring a culture of excellence throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and manage ISO procedures, controls, and management plans, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and ISO 50001 standards.
* Lead the continuous improvement of business performance, quality standards, and customer service.
* Monitor, evaluate, and report on the performance of the Business Management System comprising of the energy and quality standards, producing data-driven insights to assess performance against set objectives.
* Provide expert advice on required business changes and support the implementation of improvements across various departments.
* Identify training gaps and develop tools to ensure all departments meet the required quality standards.
* Utilise quality programmes to reduce waste, enhance efficiency, and support sustainable practices within the business.
* Foster a company-wide commitment to quality management and adherence to ISO standards.
* Engage with interested parties regarding ISO, energy, and health and safety (H&S) assurances.
* Prepare for and facilitate external QMS and Energy Management System audits with BSI auditors.
Key Areas of Focus:
* Investigation of all quality / energy issues and resolution of non-conformances.
* Monitoring of supplier and customer performance in relation to quality.
* Managing the internal / external auditing system and conducting internal audits at the Head Office and depots.
* Championing continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
* Leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
* Reporting, monitoring, and managing the Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process.
* Developing and managing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs & EnPi’s)
* Further developing and maintaining the QMS in line with ISO 9001 and ISO 50001.
* Collaborating closely with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) teams to ensure quality standards align with safety and environmental regulations.
* Leading Management Review Quality meetings and issuing clear, actionable minutes.
The Ideal Candidate:
To be considered for this role, you should have:
* Proven experience in implementing and maintaining ISO 9001 accreditation. Knowledge of ISO 50001 is desirable but not essential.
* A solid track record in managing quality improvements and successfully passing ISO audits, particularly in the warehouse and transport sectors.
* Experience in implementing change across an organisation and driving business-wide quality initiatives.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
* A full, valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel to various UK depots when required.
