Permanent Buyer required for Lisburn: Main Function: Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer will assist in maintaining and improving all aspects of purchasing, storage, distribution, and management systems to ensure the efficient operation of the companys supply chain. Key Responsibilities: Maintain the department's certifications Utilise the company ERP system to: Forecast and purchase production parts and raw materials. Control ordering of consumables. Process and issue purchase orders efficiently. Source and negotiate favorable contracts with new suppliers as required. Assist in cost negotiations, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and implementing supplier rebate strategies. Manage and carry out stock-taking duties regularly. Handle invoice, delivery, and stock replenishment queries. Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, implementing corrective actions when necessary. Support the Purchasing Manager in ensuring the efficient operation of the department. Lead and support projects related to Stores and logistics to enhance operational effectiveness. Maintain accurate records of all material transactions. Act as an advisor on materials management matters when necessary. Ensure compliance with the companys quality and environmental management systems while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Supervise and guide stores personnel, ensuring adherence to health, safety, environmental, and statutory regulations. Contribute to strategic materials initiatives to support the companys business plan and corporate objectives. Assist in the development and execution of the companys materials and operational objectives. Undertake any other duties required to fulfill the role's responsibilities effectively. Essential Criteria: Previous experience in a Buyer or Procurement role within a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of purchasing processes, supplier management, and contract negotiations. Experience using ERP/MRP systems for procurement and stock management. Knowledge of quality standards and compliance requirements. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on cost reduction and efficiency. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. Experience supervising or coordinating a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Desirable Criteria: CIPS qualification or working towards it. Experience in supply chain/logistics improvement projects.
