EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW We have an exciting opportunity to work within our Customer Operations team as a Senior Distribution Service Technician on a 12 Month Fixed Term contract. Within this role your role you will be working to ensure the effective operation of the Distribution Network whilst ensuring you are delivering full compliance with all Customer, regulatory and company standards. This role is heavily customer centred and there will be a focus on getting things right first time. You will be proactive in taking ownership of customer issues and building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate this. Apart of this role will also include auditing the team to check they are properly equipped and are completing the role safely. The focus will be to ensure that you are supporting the team to deliver jobs to a gold standard actioning deferrals and root causing suspends and providing coaching where required. Key accountabilities of this role include: Ensuring 3rd parties do not misuse the distribution network and take enforcement action where required Make certain the team safeguard the environment during their work as well as ensuring pollution audits are completed Proactively protect vulnerable parts of the network preventing potential water quality and supply interruptions events Manage field resource during No Supply incidents and promote a restore before repair ethos in the response Support the implementation of change within the department through lean processes Deputize for and assist the DST Team Manager in their duties and responsibilities Work with the Asset Optimization team to provide operational and technical input to ensure capital investment provides an end product compatible with operational needs and maintenance practices. The role will include being part of a regional standby Rota which operates 24/7, 365 days a year. Role may include working across different regions as required. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLE We are seeking an individual who has experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and can build strong relationships. It would be advantageous if you understood hydraulics and the affects this can have on water quality and pipe integrity. To be successful, you will need to be able to demonstrate that you can diagnose and solve problems, lead a team and work under pressure to deliver the best experience for our customers.
