Description
The International Assistant Accountant will be responsible for providing support to the Firm's overseas operations in management accounting, billing, purchase and payments management, as well as providing support on ad-hoc projects including international expansions.
The International Assistant Accountant role reports to the Senior International & Systems Accounting Manager and sits within the Group Financial Reporting & Control team. The International Assistant Accountant will also work closely with the wider Finance teams located overseas.
The role is for a 12 month fixed term contract.
Key Responsibilities
* Setting up new general ledger codes in both 3E and Chrome River.
* Assisting in designing, implementing and maintaining internal system controls (preventative and detective) to provide quality assurance over financial data.
* Supporting ad-hoc projects (international expansions, finance transformation etc.)
* Supporting the Group Financial Accountant in collating information on transactions for auditing purposes.
* Providing support to the International Finance stakeholders as and when required.
* Setting up and maintaining matters and rates for overseas entities as and when required.
* Setting up and maintaining matter charging rates for overseas entities as and when required.
* Raising and amending bills / credit notes and dealing with billing queries for overseas entities as and when required.
* Raising payments, disbursements, expense claims and purchase invoices for overseas entities as and when required.
* Setting up and processing bank payments for overseas entities as and when required.
* Posting cash and allocating to bills for overseas entities as and when required.
* Preparing bank reconciliations for overseas entities as and when required.
* Ensure all financial transactions are recording appropriately in systems, in line with Group accounting policy and local regulations, liaising with external local accountants where appropriate.
* Assisting external local accountants with local regulatory requirements and filing of any necessary paperwork on time.
* Assisting external local accountants with preparation of statutory financial year-end accounts for DACB Italia and DACB Peru entity.
* Assisting overseas entities with training on financial processes, systems and controls.
* Assisting in balance sheet reconciliations for International entities to clear aged differences.
* Assisting in FX clean-up of inactive accounts.
* Assisting in closure of inactive bank accounts on 3E.
* Assisting in closure of inactive entities on 3E.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
* Currently studying AAT or equivalent.
* Experience of working with 3E would be an advantage.
* Builds effective relationships, and works collaboratively with internal customers.
* IT literate - experience of working with 3E would be an advantage.
* Good knowledge of Excel.
* Fluent in written and oral English - knowledge of other languages like Spanish, French and Italian would be beneficial, but not essential.
* Preferably aware of financial concepts.
* Self-starter, keen to take ownership, solve problems, learn and grown.
* Good attention to detail.
* Good communication skills are essential as the role requires liaising with other offices.
* Flexible in terms of a changing environment and workload, and working across multiple time-zones.
* Organised and able to handle multiple demands and meet deadlines simultaneously.
