Key Responsibilities
1. Ensure that the customer is at the center and heart of what we do, understanding customer needs and expectations, and delivering exceptional service levels.
2. Ensure a proactive sales culture is maintained at all times.
3. Generate ideas about future trade activities to ensure a cutting-edge strategy; maintain up-to-date knowledge of the marketplace, industry, competitors, and trends.
4. Obtain and actively manage relationships with long-term key customers by comprehending their requirements, whilst playing an integral part in generating new sales that will turn into long-lasting relationships.
5. Attend and contribute to relevant meetings to widen knowledge and support customers.
6. Maintain technical product knowledge to provide customers with the best, most accurate information possible.
7. Manage customer accounts, ranging from chandleries to OEMs, with the aim of maximizing sales opportunities with each of our channel partners.
8. Create and deliver against a strategic territory sales plan, developing new opportunities, driving sales, and exceeding company and supplier expectations.
9. Proactively make outbound calls to promote the brand and product ranges.
10. Use sales analysis tools to track customer performance, develop insight into supplier opportunities, and maximize regional sales performance.
11. Work closely with our Regional Depots and Customer Service teams, along with other departments, and demonstrate excellent teamwork, problem-solving skills, and innovation to help us deliver a world-class customer service offering.
12. Compile regular customer and sales analysis reports and make supplier and product recommendations from market feedback.
13. Represent our Company at Trade Exhibitions and Boat Shows.
14. Your ability to be flexible, adaptable, and open to new challenges.
15. Analyze sales performance, trends, and identify business opportunities using analytical software.
16. Obtain and report on competitor intelligence and industry trends.
Skills and Experience
1. A self-starter able to work unsupervised.
2. Has a proactive approach to sales.
3. Experience in sales & account management.
4. Marine sector knowledge or boating experience desirable.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Ability to work well within a team.
7. Confident to exchange with a variety of customers/suppliers both face to face and over the phone.
8. Strong writing ability and email etiquette.
9. IT Skills – Microsoft Packages.
10. Customer-oriented with an aptitude for Sales & Customer Service.
11. Full UK Driver License – (Desirable).
