Colchester: A City for the Future
Are you ready to lead a groundbreaking transformation in a city full of potential?
Colchester City Council is seeking a Director of Estates to spearhead the revitalisation of our infrastructure and asset management. This pivotal role offers you the chance to influence strategic estate management, forge impactful external partnerships, and drive Colchester's ambitious growth and development.
In this brand-new role, you’ll be instrumental in reshaping the council’s approach to asset management. We’ve recently initiated a comprehensive review of our assets, with recommendations for a corporate landlord model and strategic overhaul guiding our next steps. You’ll lead the charge in implementing these changes, collaborating with finance and data teams, and refining our asset management strategy. Crucially, you’ll work closely with elected members and community stakeholders, ensuring our strategies align with both the council’s objectives and the needs of our residents.
Your role will be to ignite a culture of continuous improvement and drive projects that will redefine Colchester. From overseeing a suite of commercial properties, including the Colchester United F.C. stadium, to navigating high-profile developments like the Northern Gateway, your role will be central to enhancing income generation and ensuring financial viability. As the council's assets range from heritage properties to modern commercial spaces, you'll be tasked with creating innovative solutions and strategic plans to maximise their value.
With city status, a bold vision for growth, and an organisational-wide transformation programme underway, this role comes at an exciting time of change. If you’re a hands-on leader with a talent for strategic thinking, asset management, and people leadership – and if you’re ready to be a key player in our transformative journey – we want to hear from you.
