We have an exciting opportunity for those wishing to work within the role of Nursing Assistant within Child & Adolescent Mental Health.
Ty Llidiard is a 15 bedded tier 4 General Adolescent Mental Health Unit with a high care ward, serving the population of South Wales. The unit has a full multi-disciplinary team, with a range of medical, nursing and therapeutic posts. The unit assesses and works with young people between the ages of 12 and 18 who live in South, Mid and West Wales and who are experiencing psychiatric disorders such as anorexia nervosa, clinical depression, self-harming behaviours and early onset psychosis. The successful applicant will work as part of a large multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of care and treatment for children and young people.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to work with, and provide social, psychological and practical support to young people who have mental health needs.
Key responsibilities include assisting the qualified nurse in providing individual care and treatment to patients and their families in a variety of different settings, including the community.
Along with the required experience and qualifications you will also need to be passionate about working with young people and their families. You will need to have a caring nature and be dedicated to spending time with the young people whilst supporting them in times of distress. You will also need to be enthusiastic about team working, able to receive instruction, whilst working closely with the qualified nursing staff in providing safe and effective care.

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of working with children and young people, or families
* Excellent communication skills, ability to work within a team
* Ability to maintain accurate records, IT literacy
Qualifications/Training
* NVQ level 3 in Health Care or the equivalent level of knowledge and competence assessed training and experience
* Formal qualification in areas relevant to post

Salary: £24,433 to £26,060 a year, pro rata if part time
