Senior Portfolio Accountant - International Real Estate (12 MTh FTC) - Our Client are a leading and financially robust international property owner, investor, and asset manager with a multi-billion-pound global real estate portfolio. They have engaged us to recruit a Senior Portfolio Accountant for a 12-month fixed term contract - The role provides full ownership of all aspects from property level accounting through to corporate and cross management with other disciplines. Additionally, the role will provide exposure to different jurisdictions in terms of both accounting, regulations and corporate governance and administration.
THE ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: The Senior Portfolio Accountant will be responsible for the following key duties:
Reviewing quarterly property/corporate financial reports, as well as monthly cash flows prepared by external agents, including variance analysis for each
Monitoring portfolio cash needs through a monthly review of property-level funding and forecasted cash activity
Reviewing monthly bank reconciliations, project cost reconciliations, and quarterly rent reconciliations
Reviewing annual budget(s) and business plan(s) in conjunction with Asset Managers as provided by agents.
Writing quarterly board papers
Reviewing and controlling year-end statutory accounts prepared under IFRS and local GAAP as provided by agents, ensuring readiness for Board approval.
Managing the year-end process with external auditors and other advisors, overseeing the year-end audit for the portfolio to agreed timetables, and addressing audit queries.
Reviewing and requesting tax advice received from external tax advisors in conjunction with the Finance Manager.
Reviewing VAT and Tax Returns prepared by agents, raising challenges or amendments where necessary.
Supporting Asset Manager(s), including providing a financial review of prospective tenants, lease cash flow modelling as and when received, and assisting with project appraisals.
THE PERSON and SKILLS REQUIREMENTS for the Senior Portfolio Accountant:
ACCA/ACA Qualified Accountant with post-qualification experience and strong organizational skills.
Must have financial accounts experience within the property sector.
Excellent enquiring, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Previous experience working with non-UK-based organizations is a plus.
