Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust provides services within the Northumberland and North Tyneside areas serving a population of 500,000 people and an area of 2000 sq. miles. Laboratory services are located at North Tyneside General Hospital, Wansbeck General Hospital and the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital (NSECH) which opened in 2015 as England’s first purpose-built specialist emergency care hospital, with emergency consultants on site 24/7, as well as consultants in a range of specialities working seven days a week.
We are looking for a qualified, enthusiastic and motivated Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Biomedical Scientist.
Candidates should have a flexible approach to working, demonstrate good organisational skills and the ability to work without close supervision.
This post falls within the provisions of Agenda for Change Annex 20 - Development of Professional Roles, whereby upon completion of an agreed set of competencies you may move onto the next pay band without the need for an application for a post at a higher level.

* The post holder will practice as a registered Biomedical Scientist in the Haematology / Blood Transfusion Department, working as part of a team in the provision of a high quality diagnostic service to Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust and General Practitioners. They will also participate in the supervision, training and development of Trainee Biomedical Scientists and Medical Laboratory Assistants.
