Role overview
We are seeking a talented Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team and take ownership of building and maintaining our infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability and scalability of our platform, supporting both our global city guides (timeout.com) and our food hall market business.
What you'll be doing:
1. Wrangle the power of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build, deploy, and maintain our critical applications and infrastructure.
2. Automate everything under the sun! You'll be crafting pipelines and scripts to streamline our development and deployment processes.
3. Collaborate with our development and operations teams to ensure seamless delivery and a flawless user experience.
4. Monitor performance, identify bottlenecks, and troubleshoot any issues that might arise.
5. Stay on top of the latest trends in cloud technologies and keep our infrastructure future-proof.
6. Join our on-call rotation to address unexpected issues.
What you'll bring to the party:
1. At least two years' experience as a DevOps engineer (or similar role).
2. An in-depth understanding of GCP services like Cloud Build, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Monitoring or AWS services such as Code Build, CloudWatch and AutoScaling Groups.
3. Proficiency in AWS services, with hands-on experience using CloudFormation.
4. Experience with infrastructure as code tools like Terraform or Ansible is a big plus.
5. A love for scripting languages like Python or Bash.
6. Work comfortably with Docker to manage containerised applications and environments.
7. Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
8. Create Dashboards and set alerts with APM tools such as New Relic.
9. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
10. A genuine passion for Time Out's mission.
