The Risk & Assurance Manager – New QEH will support the delivery and development of the risk agenda. The NHP Risk & Assurance Manager will play a pivotal role in promoting the continuing development of a proactive risk management culture throughout the programme, helping to ensure risk is integral to all we do and is embedded throughout.
The New Hospital Programme (NHP) is the largest hospital improvement initiative in a generation, and at Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH), it presents a significant opportunity to rebuild our hospital. With the redevelopment valued at approximately £900m, this also represents the biggest infrastructure development in Kings Lynn, in generations.
Main duties of the job
* Risk Identification and Assessment: Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework for the New QEH Programme. Identify, assess, and categorise risks across all stages of the project, including design, construction, and operational phases. Work closely with key stakeholders to assess the likelihood and potential impact of each risk.
* Risk Register Management: Maintain an up-to-date and detailed risk register, ensuring all risks are captured, monitored, and reviewed regularly. Develop and implement a risk scoring system that evaluates the severity and likelihood of risks and prioritise action plans accordingly.
* Risk Mitigation Strategies: Design and implement effective risk mitigation strategies, working with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful execution of these plans. Regularly review and refine mitigation measures to adapt to evolving risks throughout the project lifecycle.
* Risk Reporting: Prepare and present detailed risk reports to senior management and the Programme Board, ensuring transparency and providing actionable insights. Ensure that risk reporting aligns with the Trust’s risk management policies and NHS standards.
