Entry Level Associate: Power and Renewable Energy Appraisal

CohnReznick Advisory Group currently has an exciting career opportunity in the Valuation Advisory team located in our New York office. We are looking for an Entry-Level Consultant to join our team.
As a part of this dynamic team, you will have the unique experience to work in a collaborative environment on a wide range of valuation projects pertaining to renewable energy systems and power assets across various technologies, as well as operating businesses, machinery & equipment, cost segregation, and other consulting services. Our valuations are used for financial reporting, debt and equity financing purposes, tax reporting, buy/sell decision making, management planning, personal property tax, and litigation support.
Our Team:
* Values portfolios and membership interests of power and renewable energy assets throughout the development lifecycle and normal operating life; and operating businesses and development platforms/pipelines consisting of wind, solar, energy storage, biomass, and other technologies.
* Performs market research and learns about energy system development, financing and operations, and industry trends and outlooks.
* Uses analysis, industry knowledge, and market research to prepare world-class valuation reports.

You will be responsible for:
* Valuation engagements for a variety of purposes including financial reporting (fair value measurements for GAAP and IFRS financial statements), tax, litigation, and transactions/strategic planning.
* Create, maintain and review complex financial models and valuation analyses, including discounted cash flow analysis.
* Perform market, industry, and economic research and analyses.
* Review and analyze financial statements, model projected operations, and integrate market comparable transaction data into the valuation analysis.
* Perform cost approach and market approach for machinery & equipment assets.
* Assist in the preparation of valuation reports, models, and schedules.
* Review and summarize financial, corporate, and legal agreements.
* Maintain active communication and build relationships with your team throughout the engagement process.
* Review and provide commentary on other companies’ appraisals to support the CohnReznick audit team.
Requirements:
* Able to begin work immediately.
* Bachelor’s degree or MBA with a major in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or a business-related field.
* Interest in the renewable energy and power sector, and machinery and equipment.
* Interest in a valuation career and previous internship experience within the business field.
* Evidence of leadership skills and abilities, including leadership positions in extracurricular activities.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
* Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment.
* Extreme proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Adobe PDF.
* Progress towards or interest in ASA, CFA, CPA/ABV is a plus.
