Job Description: Job Title Production Engineer Location Birmingham Corporate Title Assistant Vice President This specific role is with Securities Settlements Technology (Production) team – part of the Post-Trade Automation (PTA) organization, that is spread across the globe (Cary, Birmingham, Bangalore, Pune, Singapore, and Tokyo) and is responsible for the smooth running of a platform to assist day-to-day Fixed Income & Currencies Settlement Operations globally. You will be working from the Birmingham office to support the back office operations team, providing application expertise and resolving technical failures with the applications. You will liaise with application development teams to understand the applications, the releases that are planned and assist development teams in performing root cause analysis and inform the operations team on the ongoing issues via regular communications. You will also perform weekend activities on a Rota basis to deploy software releases on production environment, perform application failover and sanity checks during data center disaster recovery activities. In addition to that you will explore opportunities to automate manual tasks to reduce Toil. Work with application developers to improve application stability. Your skills and experience Experience of supporting Fixed Income settlement applications in a financial industry Strong written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of Bitbucket, Infrastructure, Networking, middleware (MQ/Kafka) Good understanding/ working experience on Cloud technology, proficiency in Unix, Shell Scripting and SQL Working experience on monitoring tools (Geneos/ NewRelic (preferred) Experience working with production support team (with familiarity to the latest Information Technology Infrastructure Library framework & concepts) How we’ll support you Training and development to help you excel in your career.
