We are currently recruiting Healthcare Assistants/Support Workers for ongoing work across Tyne and Wear (NE32). We are recruiting staff on a temporary to permanent basis where you will be on a probation period for 12 weeks before you move across permanently.
Brief Role
To provide individualised person-centred support to service users with mental health issues, learning disabilities, and personality disorder. To enable service users to enjoy a fulfilling and valued life, to participate in the community, and to develop their abilities as fully as possible.
We require:
* Minimum 6 months experience in care within the UK with mental health issues, challenging behaviour, learning disabilities, complex needs, sensory and personality disorder.
* Proof of eligibility to work in the UK (We do not offer sponsorship).
* Ability to provide 2 references covering the last 4 years of work history (one from current or most recent employer).
* Enhanced DBS that is on the update service (Desirable).
* Clean, valid driving licence and access to a car (Desirable).
* PBS Trained.
* Ability to work safely and responsibly without direct supervision in service user’s own homes.
* Ability to support service users with their physical health needs, which may include pushing wheelchairs and using hoists, requiring a degree of physical fitness.
* Possession of NVQ or other relevant social care qualification (Desirable).
Hours
Full time 37.5 hours or part time minimum 15 hours per week. To be worked flexibly on a rota which will include evenings, weekends, and public holidays according to the needs of the service.
Salary
Weekday: £14.50 per hour
Night/Weekend: £14.75 per hour.
