For this post, applicants need to be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and hold a BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification as a pharmacy technician.
Working across sites at both University Hospital Llandough and University Hospital of Wales, you will support the Medicines Procurement and Homecare Services Teams to develop and maintain a patient-centered and responsive medicines procurement and homecare service.
Non-ACPT trained pharmacy technicians or newly qualified technicians are welcome to apply; training and support will be provided.
While ACT qualification is required for this post, we welcome applicants who wish to work towards this qualification, and full training will be provided. During training, the contract will be Annex 21: 75% Band 5 for up to 12 months until the ACT qualification is achieved.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of our Medicines Procurement and Homecare Services teams. You will assist in the procurement of medication, including controlled drugs and infusion fluids, into our acute hospital pharmacy departments. You will also be involved in supervising the Homecare Services team and developing this essential service for our patients. This role is vital to ensure the continued availability of medicines for administration to patients across the Health Board through the provision of a safe and efficient medicines procurement and homecare service.
You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and must be able to work effectively with the existing team. You should have a BTEC/NVQ level 3 in pharmaceutical science or equivalent, registration with the GPhC is essential, and you must be a qualified accuracy-checking Pharmacy Technician. Hospital pharmacy experience is essential.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Experience
* You will have post-qualification hospital experience and a working knowledge of medicines procurement, stock control, and homecare services.
Skills
* You will have demonstrable excellent analytical, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Knowledge
* ECDL or equivalent Microsoft Office applications experience, knowledge of medicines procurement and homecare.
* You will be self-motivated, able to work equally as part of a team and on your own initiative, with a flexible/adaptable approach to work.
* Diplomatic.

* You must be able to demonstrate commitment, prioritise your own and others' workloads, and be able to work under pressure.
