New Directions are recruiting for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant for a well-known school in the Machen area to join their team for 3.5 days per week starting in September 2024. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to provide high-quality learning support and contribute to the positive ethos of the school.
This role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant to take on a higher level of responsibility within a supportive environment to motivate and encourage students to show ambition, maximize their potential, and embrace all aspects of school life and to develop a wide-ranging skill set.
We expect you to exhibit a passion for raising student expectations and achievements by performing the requirements below:
1. Support students in their learning activities, promoting engagement and understanding.
2. Contribute to the assessment and monitoring of student progress.
3. Support Classroom Management and Behaviour Policies.
4. Assist in the preparation and organisation of learning materials.
5. Deliver pre-planned lessons to ensure continuity of Education during Teacher absence.
6. Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons under the direction of teaching staff.
7. Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly, particularly within smaller schools.
8. Participate in CPD learning opportunities.
9. Attend multiple webinars/seminars during half term – Including, Team Teach, Incidental Welsh, British Sign Language, Assessment for Learning, Mindfulness and Wellbeing plus many more.
10. Have a dedicated and expert Account Manager.
11. Engage in regular and varied supply work.
12. Receive competitive rates of pay.
13. Explore potential long-term roles.
