We require an Admissions Administrator to enhance our Admin team.
The position is for 15-20 hours per week working Monday - Friday; term time plus one week; 39 weeks per year. One additional week for staff development training days.
The Trafalgar School has experienced significant growth over the last decade with the number on roll increasing from 545 in 2014 to an expected 825 in 2026-27 (currently 800).The PAN (published admission number) is 165 for each year group with the current Year 10and 11 slightly fewer than this. We are highly regarded within the local community and as a result the school is now regularly over-subscribed in all year groups and we operate waiting lists to manage this. As an academy within Magna Learning Partnership our admissions authority is the Trust. As a consequence of this the postholder and the school benefit from significant support from the central team, including the Head of Governance, who ensures that school procedures and policy meet statutory compliance expectations. The role of Admissions Administrator is an exciting and enjoyable one and sits within our large, professional administrative team. The role requires excellent communication skills with the postholder acting as a “window” into the school, often being the colleague who provides parents with their first contact with Trafalgar. In addition to this the postholder provides crucial administrative support for some of the most important events in the school calendar, specifically our Open Evening in September. Throughout the academic calendar further admissions and transitions from school are managed through the Fair Access protocol and this results in a day-to-day which is interesting, varied and fulfilling.
Professionalism is required as the role is central to the appeals process. This statutory framework is overseen by the Headteacher and the postholder is required to provide the administrative support to this legal process liaising closely with the Local Authority and admissions panels.
Overall, the role of Admissions Administrator is an exciting opportunity for a colleague who may wish to begin a career in school administration and operations or for a colleague who may have had experience in a school, enjoys the environment and is looking for flexibility with work commitments.
