Your new company
Hays are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a highly innovative life sciences venture close to Southampton. The organisation has garnered the interest of industry partners due to its market-leading applications in the medical space. Due to planned growth, a Financial Controller is required on a permanent basis.
Your new role
This new role will report to the Finance lead and will be responsible for undertaking day-to-day ownership of all aspects of the company's financial operations. This will be a hands-on role, partnering with both internal and external stakeholders. You will be instrumental in growing the team as the business expands.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Management and preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
2. Overseeing company accounts.
3. Preparation and submission of VAT returns and all subsequent VAT matters.
4. Cash flow projections and treasury management.
5. Working on all related tax matters.
6. Annual audit and statutory accounts.
7. Managing the company's financial systems.
8. Input into the company's annual budgeting, forecasting and reforecasting.
9. Managing R&D project cost tracking, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team.
10. Developing and implementing appropriate financial controls that align with growth.
11. Providing company secretarial support.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be qualified ACA / ACCA with exposure to team leadership. Experience with Xero is desirable. You will be comfortable in highly changeable VC backed organisations where you will communicate with high-level investors and stakeholders internally and externally. You will have worked previously in a Biotech / Pharmaceutical styled environment.
