Nurse Team Manager - Harlow Haemodialysis
We are recruiting for a Nurse Team Manager - Harlow Haemodialysis who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
You are expected to be an experienced renal trained nurse, working in partnership with the Matron as an integral part of the Nurse Management team, promoting the principle of cross sites. You will be accountable for the line management of nursing staff demonstrating clinical and managerial leadership, enabling the units to provide the highest standards of care and minimising any risks to service users.

Main duties of the job
1. Act as a role model to all staff and maintain a high visible presence in the department.
2. Direct line management of department staff including recruitment, rosters, and supervision of pre and post registration students.
3. Participate in service planning considering corporate, departmental, and professional objectives within a clinical governance framework.
4. Implement measurable accountable models to sustain high standards of safe patient care and clinical outcomes.
5. Manage all nursing personnel issues in a timely manner in accordance with Trust policies.
6. Propose and implement department policies that underpin the continuous improvement of patient care and services.

You will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £1,258 and a maximum payment of £2,121.

Person Specification
Qualifications / Training
* Registered Nurse educated to Part 1 of the NMC Register
* Post registration qualification in renal specialty including recognised Renal course
* Teaching qualification - Mentorship and preceptorship/998/Practice assessor course
* Evidence of continuous professional development.
* Managerial and leadership qualification/relevant experience
Previous Experience
* Significant experience in caring for patients requiring renal nursing, demonstrating a special interest in haemodialysis treatment.
* Evidence of understanding in expenditure and budget management.
* Involvement in audit/research and willingness to present findings at meetings and conferences.
Skills
* Ability to communicate effectively at a complex level - excellent analytical written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to develop own skills and knowledge
* Demonstrate a flexible approach to changing departmental needs.
* Demonstrate strong leadership and motivational skills.
* Ability to engage with management and staff, demonstrating excellent negotiating skills.
* Performance management skills, including understanding of disciplinary procedures.

* In-depth knowledge of managing a busy dialysis unit.

* Ability to manage pressure in the work environment professionally.
* Experience with Human Resources policies and procedures.
* Financial management competence, including understanding of rosters and skill mix.
