Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and experience. You will be expected to work as part of a team as well as using your own initiative and will be positively encouraged to recognise and develop service improvement.
In return you will be working within a proactive, dynamic team, supporting delivery of a first class service and will have the opportunity to positively influence care for cancer patients and their families.
There is an expectation that you will rotate within the day unit departments to support your development and service provision.

The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough is a designated major trauma centre and provides all its specialties from one site which is unique for a hospital of its size. It provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services such as neurosciences, renal medicine, spinal injuries, major trauma, cardiothoracics, vascular surgery and cancer services.
The Friarage Hospital in Northallerton is an essential part of our organisation and an important point of delivery for the community.
Job responsibilities
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers leadership and improvement training to all new staff to the Trust; this training programme has been designed to support our leaders in developing their understanding of leadership and management skills. You will be expected to attend the leadership development programme, and the Quality Improvement Programme that the Trust delivers.
Person Specification
Knowledge and Skills
* Registered General Nurse
* Current NMC Registration
* Effective communication skills written and verbal.
* Commitment to the needs of the service including a flexible and adaptable approach in the work environment/ work practices.
* Effectively prioritises and co-ordinates own work.
* A team player able to work well with others and demonstrate commitment to team objectives.
* Ability to use initiative to make a decision within sphere of work and/or knowledge, recognising where assistance is required.
* Commitment to adhere to Trust Policies and Procedures and to contribute to an implement policies in own area and propose changes.
Experience
* Experience working within an acute or community setting
* Commitment to evidence based practice
* Ability to work within the boundaries of the NMC Code of Professional conduct
* Experience of Multi-disciplinary working
Qualifications and Training
* Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
