Street Lighting OperativeReference: OP2594No. of Vacancies: 1Location: Enterprise House, Stockport, SK3 0XTSalary: £22,183 per annumHours: 37 hours per weekAt Totally Local Company an opportunity has arisen for a Street Lighting Operative who possess' a professional demeanour, sound judgement and integrity to join the Street Lighting Team.Duties & ResponsibilitiesTo receive work instructions from either the supervisor and or higher graded operational personnel.To identify and understand the task to be undertaken.To formulate the correct approach to carry out the task, in a safe and effective manner, with regard to Health & Safety and other relevant legislation. To use all equipment and machinery effectively, efficiently and in accordance with safe working practices. Including driving and operation of company or hired vehicles and plant. To use all materials in accordance with safe working practices, including manual handling and the COSHH regulations. To keep all materials, plant, equipment and vehicles secure from theft and damage.To complete the works required within the given timescales To report any faults with plant, equipment or machinery to the Assistant Group Manager. To fully participate in operational staff training and development programmes. To maintain good working relationships with the general public and deal with any minor queries or complaints, and to relay any significant customer issues to the Assistant Group Manager, for further action. To work flexibly in the interests of the Company – including working outside the Borough of Stockport. This may include undertaking other duties provided that these are appropriate to the employee’s background, skills, abilities and training. Where this occurs there will be consultation with the employee and any necessary personal development will be taken into account. Skills Knowledge and ExpertiseShould be experienced in all aspects of road maintenance inclusive of streetlights, signs, bollards, speed cameras. Must be able to work at heights.Possess a full LGV Driving Licence or Equivalent up to 32 Ton.Assist Electrician in commissioning of street furniture.Understands and actively supports Totally Local Company/Stockport Councils diversity and equality policy. Ability and willingness to work outside normal office hours as demands necessitate.A willingness to be flexible in a changing environment.
