About the Role
VANRATH is proud to be recruiting for a Business & Project Support Officer on behalf of our client, a leading public sector organisation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the planning, development, and implementation of Asset & Services projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in business case development, governance, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring projects align with corporate objectives and financial plans.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead on the development, drafting, and management of business cases from initiation to approval.
* Ensure alignment of business cases with corporate strategy and financial planning.
* Provide governance support for Asset & Services projects, managing risks and stakeholder engagement.
* Conduct research and benchmarking for future projects.
* Manage and oversee the submission and approval process for business cases.
* Ensure effective post-project evaluations and integrate learning into future projects.
* Support procurement and tendering processes, ensuring value-for-money outcomes.
* Maintain and enhance corporate governance, data assurance, and compliance with GDPR.
* Provide training and knowledge transfer to relevant staff on business case development.
Essential Criteria
* A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business Management, Finance) plus 2 years' relevant experience in business case development within a large organisation.
OR
* A HND or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline plus 3 years' relevant experience in business case development within a large organisation.
* Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure.
* Experience in advising and influencing senior management.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook) and Management Information Systems.
* A valid driving licence and access to transport to meet the full requirements of the role.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working within a public sector or regulatory environment.
* Knowledge of HM Treasury's Five Case Model and NI Better Business Case principles.
* Familiarity with project management methodologies .
